5 Aussies players to watch out for in Ashes


  • The oldest rivalry between Australia and England, is about to resume from 8th July 2015 with the Ashes as the Australian players have reached and are confident of retaining the Ashes that they won in Australia last time. The Australian team had a good outing in West Indies beating the West Indies 2-0 and are looking forward for the challenge playing in England.

    Here is a list of the 5 Aussies players to watch out in Ashes 2015 against England –

    1. David Warner

    David Warner, the opener of the Australian team, had a great season in Australia against India in test matches. With Ashes around the corner the Australian opener would be looking to give good and solid starts to the team and create pressure on the England bowling attack which comprises of Anderson, Broad, Stokes. It will be important for David Warner to play good cricket so that Australia can get big scores on the board to put pressure on the England team.

    2. Steve Smith

    Steve Smith has been in excellent form in the past 4 months. He scored huge amount runs against India at home and against West Indies he scored runs again. Because of his performances with the bat he has be ranked as the number 1 batsmen in test matches. In England, where the pitches will help fast bowlers, his role will become huge and needs to play important innings for Australia at which ever number he bats according to the situation of the game.

    3. Shane Watson

    Shane Watson another key member in the Australian team. He now bats at number 6 and is useful bowler too. With the conditions helping the fast bowling his bowling will be of great help. Batting contribution will be key from him to boost the Australian team to healthy totals. He needs to contribute to help Australia to maintain pressure on the England whole time.

    4. Mitchell Starc

    Mitchell Starc has been a leading bowler for Australia. In the World Cup 2015, he emerged as the leading wicket taker in the tournament. With the conditions in England might help fast bowlers, Mitchell Starc’s role with new ball is to pick early wickets to put pressure on England top order. With the old ball he can trouble the best batsmen in the world and Australia will pin his hopes on him to deliver the goods for the captain.

    5. Mitchell Johnson

    Mitchell Johnson the leading fast bowler for Australia will be another key member. When these two teams met in the Ashes Johnson destroyed the England batting. He was the leading wicket taker in the series picking 37 wickets. With the Ashes 2015 starting from 8th July he will an important role to pick wickets when the partnerships are going and make the life of England batsmen tough.
