Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh tweeted and praised India skipper MS Dhoni for his decision to quit as the brand ambassador of realty firm Amrapali. On Saturday, Harbhajan took his twitter account to hail Dhoni for his stand against the real estate group. The builder failed to live up to its promise of gifting a villa each to the members of the 2011 World Cup-winning team.

“Well done @msdhoni for dropping #Amarpali builders s brand ambassadorship..they didn’t give us VILLAS they announce after 2011 world cup win,” tweeted Harbhajan.

Dhoni, who was a brand ambassador of the Amrapali group, found himself in the middle of controversy when residents of the real estate firm’s project Sapphire, protested against incomplete flats and criticised Team India skipper for his attachment to such a group.

The Amrapali group, on the other hand, defended itself saying that the villas will be delivered by next year. “We have been telling 11 players to meet us for paperwork but no one has come to finalise paperwork. Villas are ready and possession will be given next year.”
