When Rising Pune Supergiant started their tourney with a win over Mumbai Indians with Steven Smith hitting two back to back sixes in last over, the critics of MS Dhoni came out openly and lauded Steven Smith as better than Dhoni. One of the critics was Harsh Goenka, the brother of Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of RPS.
All during the IPL, he indirectly fired few shots towards MS Dhoni and tried to rate Steven Smith as a better player but yesterday, during the all-important qualifier 1, the show with MS Dhoni presented, forced his critics and especially Harsh Goenka to change his view towards him as he did not just lauded Dhoni’s innings but also enjoyed every bit of it from the stands.
Here is the photo which clearly states that Goenka was in all awe of Dhoni at Wankhede stadium –

It was due to Dhoni’s innings that RPS could win the game as after winning the toss, Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first keeping the dew factor in mind. RPS suffered few early blows but ManojTiwary did his best to score runs. He needed someone from the other end to just increase the run-rate.
Dhoni was the man. He though took his time at the start but soon got back in touch as the former skipper smacked a total of four six in last two overs to increase the run-rate. He played an innings of 40 off just 26 balls to help the team finish on a total of 162, which turned to be the match-winning score for them as Mumbai, in the end, found themselves short by a margin of 20uns and lost the game.
Dhoni, Manoj Tiwary, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur were the heroes for Pune team as it were the combined efforts from these four that Pune became the first team to qualify for the final of IPL 10.
Rising Pune Supergiant will now face the winner of the second qualifier of May 21 in Hyderabad.
