IPL has begun and we have already seen quite the drama so far. Be it a close finish, big hitting, good bowling, terrific catches, drop catches, ducks, century (by Brendon McCullum on 11th April) so far. One thing we are yet to see in the ongoing season of IPL is a brilliant partnership, let alone a match winning partnership.

In the previous 7 seasons of IPL runs have flowed, flowed heavily and the list below is a small example of that.

In today’s stat we will take a look at a list of highest partnership for every wicket in Indian Premier League:

Well, what you are seeing are not the partnership record for ODI matches but the stat for highest partnerships for every wicket in IPL. Though the numbers seem to be too good to be true, they are what they are.

For the 1st wicket partnership, the pair of Gayle and Dilshan scored 167 runs togethers against Pune Warriors Team. This was same match when Gayle made the record for highest ever individual score ever in a T20 game. Team score: 263 runs.

The highest ever partnership in IPL and the highest partnership for 2nd wicket is by Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh. These two Australia batsmen scored 206 together against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 4th season of IPL. Team score: 232 runs.

For the third wicket the pair of Cameron White and Kumar Sangakkara together scored 157 runs against the Pune Warriors team in 2012. Team Score: 186 runs.

Memorable partnership of de Villiers and Yuvraj Singh for RCB against Royals in the previous season is the highest ever for 4th wicket in IPL. They scored132 runs together, which still wasn’t good enough to contain the Royals as RCB lost the match. Team score: 190 runs.

For the 5th wicket on two occasions batsmen have score 130* runs. First time for KKR by Owais Shah and Angelo Matthew against DC and 2nd time in 2013 by David Miller and R Sathish for KXIP against RCB. Team score: KKR: 161 runs ; KXIP: 194 runs.
