Recently Ravi Shastri commented about India’s poor performance in England after Arjuna Ranatunga. After appointed as the director of cricket he took first initiative to solve this problem which caused a poor performance in England and as result they went down 1-3 to the England. He said a post-mortem on the team’s muddled collapse in the last three Tests in England would be high on his priority list. He also added that he is going to organize a meeting with Team India and talk to the team about what went wrong in the camp.

He is eager to know why this India who won a splendid match in Lord’s collapsed in last three test. So, he wanted to discuss with Duncan Fletcher to solve out this problem. He also admitted that, like BCCI he is too eager to know what went wrong in England after the first test match. Once Ravi Shastri helped India in 2007 during the crisis situation when India were unceremoniously dumped in ICC World Cup 2007, Shasri succeeded the then coach Greg Chappell on an expedient period. In that time he when he was asked to swap his commentary duties for a full time directorial role, he replied ambiguously about the future of his job.

He said that his first job is to find out the point where the main problem is. After locating that problem he is going to file a report to the BCCI.  After that it will be up to the board to act on it and take it forward. He also thought about the fact that they have appointed assistant coaches, who have very real interest in Indian cricket.
