Among all the controversies going  in the English cricket , be it their performance or Butler’s Mankading or the sacking of Pieterson , which is again coming up because of the comments made in public by Kevin Peterson and the other big names in English cricket; the focus finally shifted to cricket and for something which recognises the talent and appreciates it, The Awards.

England’s middle order batsman , Ian Bell has been awarded England Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2013-14 and the captain of England’s Women team, Charlotte Edwards was awarded as Women’s England of the Year 2013-14. England’s Under-19 captain Will Rhodes was the winner of the England’s Development  Programme of the Year.

The awards were given to them at Lord’s on Monday in an evening ceremony which was hosted by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the official sponsor of England’s cricket Team, Waitrose.

The awards were given on account of the performance of the player in all the forms of the International Cricket between England’s last year’s series against NewZealand at home and this year’s ICC T20 World Cup.

According to a press release by the ECB,  Ian Bell faced competition from Stuart Broad and Joe Root. The final awards were decided by the votes from the members of the cricket media. Bell had a terrific run in England’s triumph in 1st leg of the shes 2014, which was in England.

On the other hand Chalotte Edwards was rewarded of her consistent runs and her leadership skills , which helped England’s women team to win 2 back to back Ashes.

Will Rhodes was preferred over Ben Duckett, Matt Fisher and Rob Sayer  , all being his mates of England’s Under 19 team. He aslso made his debut for Yorkshire this year.

Stephen George received the “  Disability Cricketer of the Year” award.
