The International Cricket Council has decided to go ahead and fine Pakistani and Bangladeshi players Shakib Al Hassan and Wahab Riaz for unseemly behaviour on pitch.
Al Hassan and Riaz got into a heated argument on Sunday during the final Test.
The ICC has fined both Wahab Riaz and Shakib Al Hassan by cutting off 30 per cent if their wages for the said match.
The match-referee Jeff Crowe observed that the behaviours observed on Sunday were not befitting of a couple of senior players, when millions of people were watching the games all around the world.
The gestures and words exchanged between the two demonstrated a lack of respect, he stated. Both players have, since then, admitted their guilt and apologized for their behaviour. Since apologies and confession have been forthcoming from both players, a formal hearing would not be necessary.
Shakib Al Hassan smashed a good seventy six runs for Bangladesh on Sunday, bringing his team’s second inning total to 555-6.
This helped Bangladesh stumble to their first draw to Pakistan. Bangladesh have previously lost all eight of their matches to Pakistan.
The series will conclude with the second Test on May 6th to May 10th at Dhaka.
