In the ICC ODI rankings announced on Thursday Australia retains the number 1 spo with 129 points. India who whitewashed Zimbabwe 3-0 in the One day International series retains the number 2 spot with 115 points, 14 behind Australia.
In the third place New Zealand are at 3rd place in the points table with 112 points. Following a series loss to Bangladesh, South Africa retains the number 4 spot but has dropped three ranking points to 109. South Africa were hoping for a great performance in ODI Series but were trashed by Bangladesh as they lost the series 1-2.
In the 5th place Sri Lanka are placed with 105 points and can climb in the points table if they win the ODI series against Pakistan which is levelled at 1-1. In the 6th spot England are with 98 points and are 2 points behind Bangladesh.
Bangladesh won the series against South Africa and also qualified for the Champions Trophy held in 2017. Bangladesh is at 96 points. Bangladesh beat the fourth ranked side in the World and showed that they cannot be taken lightly anymore.
West Indies is in the 8th spot with 88 points and will play the tri-series whcih includes Pakistan and Zimbabwe. West Indies is in the same situation and 1 out of 2 teams will qualify for the major tournament. The last place in the table is Pakistan who is currently playing the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Pakistan needs to win the series against Sri Lanka to have chance of qualifying into the Champions Trophy 2017.
