England will face West Indies in the finals of the ICC World T20 2016 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata tomorrow. West Indies have played excellent cricket in the tournament defeating the tournament favourites India while England too has surprised everybody by playing consistent cricket. It promises to be a mouthwatering clash. Here we look at the five players to watch out in the finals.

Jason Roy

Jason Roy has been in excellent form in the tournament so far. In the semi-finals against New Zealand, he gave the team a flying start chasing a target of 154. Jason Roy attacked the New Zealand bowlers to all parts of the ground which helped England to chase down the target with ease. He and Alex Hales have given solid starts to the team in almost every match. In tomorrow’s big final match against West Indies, he needs to come up with another good knock to help England win their 2nd World T20 title.

Lendl Simmons

Lendl Simmons was not even in the 15 man squad for the ICC World T20. He was injured and ruled out of the tournament. Andre Fletcher was injured and Lendl Simmons came into the team. In the second semi-finals against India, he came at the crease after the loss of 2 quick wickets. He was caught off no balls and he made use of the chances. His match-winning knock helped West Indies to reach in the finals. In tomorrow’s big match Lendl Simmons need to play another match-winning knock to help West Indies lift their 2nd World T20 title. Lendl Simmons played some wonderful strokes of the Indian bowlers.

Joe Root

Joe Root another good batsman has to lead from the front with the bat in the finals. In the match against New Zealand, he scored 27 and remained not out. His calmness in the middle has helped England to reach the finals of the ICC World T20 Cup for the second time only. In the finals, Joe Root has to join the party and help England to score a big total. Root has to wary of West Indies bowlers. It is the duty of Joe Root to play with aggression and positive intent.

Samuel Badree

Samuel Badree has been the go-to bowler for Darren Sammy in the tournament so far. He has bowled in the power play over’s and also taken wickets for the West Indies. In the semi-finals against India, he bowled four over’s and gave away just 26 runs picking 1 wicket. He bowls line and length not allowing batsmen to hit big strokes. In the finals against England, he would be crucial as his role is to pick wickets in the first six over’s to stop the England batsmen scoring big runs.

Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes performance in this tournament has been important for England to reach the finals of the tournament. In the first semi-finals against New Zealand, Ben Stokes bowled excellently in the death over’s and restricted New Zealand to a modest total. His contribution to the team has been huge. In tomorrow’s finals, Ben Stokes need to come up with another match winning performance with bat and ball also.
