We have seen some excellent cricket so far, especially from the batting department which has been exciting to watch out for the viewers. Many established players have shown their class with the bat and young players have shown their skills.

- England’s epic chase of 230
England chased down the highest total in the ICC World T20 tournament. They chased down a massive target of 230 against South Africa at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 18th March. The South African batsmen started the innings off to a great style with De Kock and Amla scoring fifties. In the death over’s Duminy scored a quickfire fifty to help South Africa a massive total of 229. Chasing that target the England openers gave the team a flying start which laid the foundation. After that Root played a match winning knock of 83 which made sure that England won the match by 2 wickets with 2 balls to spare. It was one of the best matches of the ICC World T20 2016 so far.
- Chris Gayle 100 off 48
Chris Gayle one of the explosive batsmen in T20 cricket played a brilliant knock of 100 not out of 48 against England at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 16th March. West Indies won the toss and choose to field. England played an aggressive brand of cricket and posted a competitive of 182. Chasing that target West Indies began poorly losing the 1st wicket in first over itself. Gayle did not face too many balls in the first seven over’s. After that, Gayle smashed the England bowlers to all parts of the ground. He smashed 11 sixes and 5 fours in his innings. His brutal knock of 100 off 48 not out helped West Indies chase down the target of 183 with ease.
- India’s continue their winning streak against Pakistan
India continued their winning streak against Pakistan in ICC World T20 tournament. The Indian team defeated Pakistan for the 5th time at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 19th March. The match was reduced to 18 over’s game due to rain. India won the toss and elected to bowl. The Indian team bowled well and restricted Pakistan 118. Chasing that target India was struggling at 23 for 3 but Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh steadied the innings. Virat Kohli remained not out on 55 and guided India to victory over arch rivals Pakistan.
- New Zealand impressive performance
New Zealand has begun their ICC World T20 tournament on a positive note. The New Zealand played their first game against hosts India on 15th March. The New Zealand batsmen posted a modest total of 126 for 7 in 20 over’s but the bowlers especially the spinners Ish Sodhi and Santer really choked the Indian batsmen and bowled India out for 79. In the second match, they faced Australia in Dharamshala on 17th March. The New Zealand batsmen disappointed and scored 142 but again the bowlers came to the party and gave New Zealand an 8 run win. This win has helped New Zealand to gain the top spot with 2 wins in 2 matches.
- West Indies dominating performance
West Indies have looked in great form so far. They have defeated England and Sri Lanka by big margins. In the first match, Gayle special innings helped West Indies to register their first victory. While in the second match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru yesterday, the West Indies bowlers restricted Sri Lanka to 122 and batsmen chased down the target in 18.2 over’s. The pillar of that chase was Fletcher who scored 84. This win helped them to reach the top spot in the standings.
