England vs West Indies

The World T20 2016 is at the final hurdle when England and West Indies will meet in the final of the tournament. Both teams will play for the second time in the WT20 history. In the past, both teams have won the WT20 trophy once each. England have won WT20 2010 in West Indies while West Indies had clinched WT20 2012 in Sri Lanka. Now both of them will meet in the final match of WT20 2016 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

There are some records can be made or broken during this match. Some of them are briefly described in the following.

Records that can be made between England vs West Indies in the final of WT20 2016

  1. Who will be the WT20 champion? – In the past five editions, five different teams have won the WT20 trophy including England and West Indies. In the 6th WT20 (WT20 2016), whoever wins will be the first ever team to win the tournament for the second time.

  1. Who will the most wicket-taker for West Indies in WT20? – Presently, Caribbean leg-spinner Samuel Badree and medium-fast bowler Dwayne Bravo are jointly leading the most wicket-taker table for West Indies in WT20. Both have already taken 22 wickets each in WT20 for WI. So, there is a big chance for both of them to finish this tournament as leading wicket-taker for West Indies in WT20.

  1. Most catches for England in WT20 – Eoin Morgan is just 2 more catches away from leading the most catches for England in WT20 as a non-wicketkeeper. Currently, Luke Wright is on top with 10 catches while Morgan (9 catches) is one catch behind of him.

  1. First ever win for England against West Indies in WT20 – England has never won against West Indies in WT20. In the all 4 meetings, England has suffered a loss against the Caribbean team. So, now England has a great chance to break that jinx.
