Ind Vs Aus 2017: Australia’s Chances Of Winning Dharamsala Test Improves After Virat Kohli’s Exclusion, Says Mitchell Johnson

Former Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson feels that Australia’s chances of winning the fourth and final Test against India in Dharamsala have brightened up due to the absence of Virat Kohli.
The India skipper was ruled out of the final contest of the four-match series after failing to recover from the shoulder injury that he had sustained while fielding in the second day of the third Test at Ranchi. The 28-year old sat out for the rest of the day but did come out to bat for India’s innings and then fielded in the final two days. At Dharamsala, he came to the ground with the team and had bandages on his right shoulder. He did participate in the warm-up sessions but did not bat in the nets.
During the pre-match conference, he had said he would take the field only if he regains 100% fitness but he failed to recover in time and the team management took no risk even when the series is on the line. The series is currently locked at 1-1 and although Kohli has not enjoyed a fruitful series with the willow, his presence would have been of immense help for the young Indian team.
His exclusion has surely given the confident Australian another boost in their pursuit of a historic series win on the Indian soil and Johnson is well aware of the fact. The former speedster had already said that the bouncy and fast track of Dharamsala will suit the Australian team and Kohli’s exclusion from the playing eleven has given him more assurance that Steve Smith’s men might go all the way in the match.
Johnson took to Twitter to express his views after Cricket Australia journalist confirmed the news. The left-arm pacer tweeted:” Australia’s chances of winning the 4th improve even more so now”
