India vs England: Ben Stokes Reprimanded By ICC For Verbal Spat With Virat Kohli

The England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been reprimanded by ICC for involving in an ugly spat with Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He has been charged violating Level 1 offence of ICC. Stokes has been found guilty of violating article Article 2.1.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International Match. His act has also resulted in the addition of one demerit point in his account and in case three more demerit points are added to his account in next 24 months, he can also receive a ban of few games.
The incident happened when Indian team was celebrating the wicket of Ben Stokes. An unamused Stokes turned back and hurdled few words towards Virat Kohli to which Kohli also replied. This act was enough for Stokes to invite a call from ICC. Stokes was fast to admit the offence, hence, there was no official hearing.
