After a convincing outing throughout the four days, team India wrapped up the formalities on the fourth day to lead the series 1-0. India were simply emphatic in Antigua as they handed West Indies a thrashing by an innings to seal a memorable win. It was an ideal start to India’s campaign in the test series as the Virat Kohli led outfit was superior in all the departments.

We now analyze each Indian individual and rate the performances on a scale of 5.

  1. M. Vijay (0.5/5):

Contrary to the result of the game, opener M. Vijay had a rather forgettable test at Antigua. The stylish opener, who was expected to get India off to a solid start disappointed as he was undone by the pace and bounce of Shanon Gabriel. To make matters worse the right hander also sustained an injury to his hand and he would dearly await the results of his fitness test ahead of the second test.
