Indian Cricket team has arrived Leicestershire, England and they will play their first warm up match against the county team Leicestershire at Grace Road from June 26-28. The hosts are expecting to put up a good fight against the Indian team in the warm up game. India will play 2 warm up matches and after that the first test between India and England is scheduled to take place from 9th July at Trentbridge.

A press release on the Leicestershire website Monday welcomed MS Dhoni‘s touring team. It said, “We are delighted to welcome the India national team to Grace Road for a prestigious three-day match on Thursday. India is a wonderful side to watch in all formats of the game. The nation sits third in the list of ICC Test rankings and second in both the ODIs and T20.”

The club also added by saying, “Members and supporters are in for a treat given they will get to see the majority of the India side at Grace Road as 15 players of their exciting 18-man squad will be allowed to play. That means there is a high chance that players of the calibre of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin will play at Grace Road.”

The club also tweeted on that note. The tweet was this:

On speaking to the BBC Radio Leicester, the county coach of Leicestershire team, Ben Smith said, “There’s always been a real hype around the tourist game, I know that from when I played. That will be the case when we welcome India to Grace Road. The County Championship is the business end of cricket; where the points are earned and you really want to win those games. That’s where your role as a player lies – to win the games where you are playing for points.”

He also added, “The India game isn’t like that, so there is less pressure and you can have some fun and enjoy a game against one of the best teams in the world. Both teams will name big squads for the games, so there will be plenty of players involved over the three days. It will be a great occasion.”

The county team, Leicestershire is not running through a good patch presently and they are at the last place on the County Championship Division 2 table with 4 points from 8 matches.

It seems at the present moment that the big guns of India will be playing the match and they will get scope to adjust themselves in English conditions in the match.
