The most awaited sporting event in the country is back and set to kick off with its opening ceremony with ever more glitz and glamour than previous season on 7th April. The event scheduled at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.

The capacity of the stadium nears one lakh but officials have released only 30000 of the tickets to public for the ceremony. Subir Ganguly the Joint secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal and also a member of the governing council of the IPL revealed that the figure of 30000 includes all the hospitality passes VIP passes complementary box passes which are distributed by the board.

The ceremony, in Kolkata is taking place after almost two years, is set to host a large list of super stars who are ready to set the stage on fire and Subir felt that a large portion of the seating arena in the ground is closed to general public due to the number of stars who are to perform on the stage.

The ever enthusiastic Anushka Sharma along with other Bollywood stars Farhan Akhtar, Hirtik Roshan, Pritam and Shahid Kapoor are amongst the people who will lend color to the ceremony this year.

The MCC Spirit of cricket pledge is taken by the captains of all 8 teams who will be present during the ceremony and the captain of the defending team, who this year is Gautam Gambhir will handover the trophy which signals the start of this season of the IPL.
