In-form team Kolkata Knight Riders played against the resurgent Kings XI Punjab( KXIP) in Mohali in the 13th match of this season. The team from Punjab got their confidence back after a convincing victory over MS Dhoni’s Pune outfit. On the other hand, KKR had the chance to join Gujarat Lions at the top of the table with a win tonight.
KKR captain Gautam Gambhir decided to bowl first after winning the toss and his bowlers proved his decision completely right by restricting KXIP to a paltry score of 138 on a good batting track.
Chasing 139, Kolkata’s openers gave a solid start once again, adding 82 runs for the first wicket. In the end, Kolkata chased down the quite comfortably.

Scored a quickfire fifty to finish any hope of a comeback from KXIP. Completely took the pressure off Gambhir, who was having some problem with his footwork.

Was not at his fluent best but played a sensible knock to give a solid start. Played the perfect second fiddle to Uthappa.
3. Manish Pandey: 1.5/5
Had the chance to spend some quality time on the pitch but threw away the chance. Played for the turn and paid the price for it.
4. Shakib al-Hasan: 2/5
Could not do much with the bat. Bowled a decent quota of 4 overs by T20 standard.
5. Suryakumar Yadav: 2/5
Came in to bat when the match was already in a comfortable position for KKR. played some useful shots to take KKR past the finishing line.
6. Yusuf Pathan: 2.5/5
Did not get much to do in the batting department. Took the important wicket of David Miller.

Did not get the chance to bat. Bowled an expensive last over, conceding 18 runs.
8.Piyush Chawla: 3/5
Bowled an economical quota of 3 overs and took the priced wicket of in-form batsman Murali Vijay.

Showed the glimpse of old Narine. Troubled the batsmen throughout.
10. Umesh Yadav: 3/5
Did his job brilliantly on a pitch which was looking good for batting. Conceded less than 6 runs per over.

Dismissed the dangerous Manan Vohra early in the innings to set the tone for the rest of the bowlers.
