Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma has been picked to replace the injured Mohit Sharma in India ODI squad for the remainder of the ODI series against West Indies

Ishant Sharma will be making a comeback to the ODI circuit after being absent from the bilateral series in Bangladesh, the Asia Cup that also took place in Bangladesh along with the one-day series in England. The last ODI he played was in January against New Zealand.

Though Ishant Sharma has been unfortunate with some injuries of his own as he looked in promising form against England in the test series but missed out on the ODI series as he got injured mid-way through the test series.

Mohit Sharma, who has been dropped due to injury, has not been in good form himself. He has taken just eight wickets in his last 11 ODI matches, 4 of which came in one match against Bangladesh. In England, where he was expected to make most of his opportunities, he did not impress and failed to get even a single wicket and looked wayward with his line and length at times.

This addition of Ishant Sharma will surely bolster the Indian bowling line-up with the height advantage and also the experience that Ishant brings to the table. Team India lost the first ODI against West Indies at Kochi by 124 runs and are trailing 0-1 in the five match ODI series. India face West Indies in the 2nd ODI on 11th October at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi.
