A shocking incident occured in America when the bat of New Zealand International , Jimmy Neesham, was drilled while the officials were checking for drugs. Neesham found holes in his bat after he gave his bat to the custom officials on Thursday.

Jimmy Neesham was travelling with his team, Guyana Amazon Warriors when this incident occured in America. The incident got public after Jimmy Neesham tweeted his bat’s photo with 4 holes in it .

He then made 9 runs against Antigua Hawksbills , presumably with a different bat. He had a good match overall, taking a stunning one handed catch and remaining not-out.

Jimmy Neesham came into the limelight during the last year’s Champions League where he shined with both bat and ball for his domestic team Oago Volts, rising to the occasion and showing maturity. He was rewarded for his performances and was picked up by Delhi Daredevils.

Jimmy Neesham has played 4 Test matches and 11 ODIs for New Zealand. On his Test debut , he scored a century for New Zealand against England. He was slightly over shadowed by all rounder, Corey Anderson , after the latter scored the fastest ODI century and was having a dream run with both bat and ball. But, captain Brendon McCullum showed faith in him and persisted with him.

Such a behaviour by the officials in America is not new as more than often they don’t know the players , simply because cricket is not popular in that region. Even several bollywood superstars including Shahrukh Khan have suffered for it.

New Zealand cricket had a lot of ups and downs recently and were on the receiving side most of the times, but with some fresh bloods like Corey Anderson, Jimmy Neesham and Trent Boult, the side looks more stable and has all the ingredients to be a successful unit in all the 3 formats of the game.
