Two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have unveiled a new practice jersey ahead of the 10th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Shah Rukh Khan-owned team was spotted wearing the newly designed practice kit on the first day of their preparatory camp at the Eden gardens, Kolkata on Saturday.
The practice kits bear no resemblance to the one which the team wore last season which had pretty much the same colour and design pattern to what the players wore in actual matches.
This year, the franchise has opted to use darker shades, experimenting with red and black as the dominating colours on the sporting attire. The top half of the practice jersey carried red colour while a shade of black covers the bottom half of the jersey. The sponsor names are printed in yellow and the round necks are bordered in black.
Meanwhile, the unit which assembled had the likes of Sheldon Jackson, Ankit Rajpoot, Sayan Ghosh and Surya Kumar Yadav take part in the practice session along with assistant coach and former Australia southpaw Simon Katich. Skipper Gautam Gambhir is slated to join his troops on Monday. Head coach Jacques Kallis will also be unavailable initially and join the side later due to personal reasons.
Kolkata Knight Riders will begin their campaign with an away match against Gujarat Lions in Rajkot on April 7.
