Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has reached the top position in all-rounders rankings in the latest T20I rankings. Maxwell has also achieved his career-best ranking as he reached No.3 after the recently concluded T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Maxwell who was dropped from the ODI squad for the Sri Lankan series has made a statement with his comeback in T20I series as he made a century and a fifty in the two matches as he piled up an unbelievable 211 runs.
He made the second best T20I score ever and have backed up with a fine fifty meant that he climbed to 3rd place from 19th place as he jumped 16 places.
Virat Kohli retained his No.1 position with 820 points while Aaron Finch remained at No.2 despite not participating the Sri Lankan T20I series. Finch now has 763 points just six points ahead of in-form Glenn Maxwell.
The move of Glenn Maxwell all another batsman in top 10 earlier were moved one rank lower as they are no major changes in top-10 batsmen rankings in T20Is. Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal has moved four places to 60th position after scoring a fifty against Australia in first T20I. Meanwhile, Tillakaratne Dilshan has ended his career at No.19 after his retirement from international cricket.
In All-rounder rankings, Glenn Maxwell clinched top spot after the stellar performance which meant Shakib Al Hasan was moved to No.2 and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi remains at No.3.
