After being adjudged the Man of the Series in the four-match Test series against West Indies, Indian off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin now holds the Indian record for most Man of the Series awards in Tests.

Ashwin surpassed former batting stalwarts Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, who won the Man of the Series awards five times. What makes his achievement all the more impressive is the fact that the spinner picked up the awards in just 13 series, while it took Sehwag 39 series and Sachin 74 series to get to win their five awards.

Here we are presenting to you the most Man of the Series awards won by Indian players in Tests:

7. Harbhajan Singh – 4:

Harbhajan Singh, who played an important role for the Indian team across all the formats in the last decade, won the award four times. The first Indian to pick a hattrick in Tests, he won his first award against the Australian team in the historic 2000-01 Test series. The turbantor represented India in 103 Tests and picked up 417 wickets.

But just like the millions out there i did not put in the hard work needed to achieve my dream and now i have become a fan instead of the player. Anyway, writing for sports has kept me closer to this field. One more thing, yours sincerely is a die-hard Liverpool fan.
