The Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar said that MS Dhoni, the current One day International captain, must encourage the Indian fast bowlers extra mile when they are going for runs. The Indian bowlers have had a problem of going for plenty of runs. He said when the bowlers are being hit for runs the MS Dhoni must go the bowlers who puts his hands on his shoulders and say don’t worry , I have confidence in your bowling you can make a big difference. This is what captains do and try to encourage and make sure that bowlers are not dispirited.

The Indian team beat Bangaldesh in the third One day International by 77 runs, Dhoni had hit out on the current struggling pace bowlers saying it is time to decide on the future of the existing pace attack. The Indian pace attack struggled in the series and went for so many runs. Dhoni came at number 4 and played an excellent innings of 69 and led the foundation of big score of 317. The Indian team lost the series 1-2.

The BCCI must take measures of selecting new pacers which would help Indian cricket. The likes of Sandeep Sharma and other young pacers must be given a chance to showcase their talent. MS Dhoni has been performing well for team India and can bat according to the situation. Indian pace bowling which consists of Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been struggling for form and has to go back, work on the basics and come back stronger.

The Indian team needs pace bowlers who can be effective and bowl stump to stump without giving too many runs especially in One day International where the Indian bowlers especially bowlers have been going for plenty of runs. The Indian team needs bowlers who can pick early wickets.
