India’s ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni paid high tributes to the former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and hailed him as the inspiration for the entire country.
Abdul Kalam’s final rites were buried in his hometown Rameswaram on Thursday morning and many gathered to bid their farewell and Dhoni told the reporters that he is a huge admirer of Dr Abdul Kalam and India has lost a legend
“He reached the top through sheer hard-work. There is no better success story than his. He was the ideal role model for everyone in the country,” said Dhoni. “Not a lot of people get the opportunity to see such greatness and we are very glad to have seen him.”
“He always believed in working hard. That is what his motto was. It is a sad day for us but he left behind a lot for us to learn from,” said Dhoni.
Dhoni also felt that people should follow Kalam’s foot steps and work towards the progress of the nation like Dr. Kalam wished.
Known as the Missile Man of India, Dr Abdul Kalam played a pivotal role in the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan and India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna.
At present, Dhoni is relaxing himself at Ranchi playing some football to keep himself fit and healthy.
