Ranjib Biswal, the Odisha Cricket Association president will retain his post as the chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the new governing body under Jagmohan Dalmiya.

It has been dependently learnt that there would not be any transformation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) hierarchy with Ranjib Biswal being at the helm of matters, although none of the sub-committees has been declared.

A senior Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) official, told PTI on Tuesday that the east zone parts required to stick together. Since Ranjib Biswal had backed Mr Dalmiya’s bid of becoming the president, they will back his retention as the Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman. He has not presented poorly as the chairman and his occupancy so far has been debate free. So there is no point in changing him.

While Ranjib Biswal’s reselection is on cards, on Monday the Cricket Association of Bengal treasurer Biswarup Dey was recruited ‘Executive Assistant’ to president Dalmiya and will now act as an aqueduct between new president and former president Narayanaswami Srinivasan.

The source said that Biswarup Dey has been a Dalmiya companion for long time but even Narayanaswami Srinivasan likes him a lot. The appointment is at Narayanaswami Srinivasan’s instruction and Biswarup Dey will act as an aqueduct between Jagmohan Dalmiya and Narayanaswami Srinivasan.
