Sometime ago, a Bangladeshi actress filed a rape case against the star performer of Bangladesh Cricket team in their last match against England, Rubel Hossain. As a matter of fact, the actress said on Tuesday that she was withdrawing the respective charges against the medium pacer, just a day after his match winning effort at the ICC World Cup, 2015 in Adelaide.

Naznin Akter Happy, of 19 years age, made the rape allegation against Rubel Hossain earlier this year after claiming that the 25-year old fast bowler had reneged on a corresponding promise of marriage that he is reported to made to her at the time when they were having an “intimate affair”.

This allegation even made Rubel’s chances of appearing at the World Cup for Bangladesh in a state of turmoil. Later, he was remanded in custody by a court in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. He was granted bail later till the end of the World Cup though as it was a matter of “national interest” as Rubel is one of the leading bowlers in the Bangladeshi line up.

Recently, Happy stated of the fact that she had decided to forgive her former boyfriend who gave a stunning performance in the match against England by taking 4 crucial wickets for Bangladesh and thereby confirmed Bangladesh’s position in the quarter finals.

Happy also told that she has forgiven him and he would not go to continue the case against him.

She also made a point that she won’t give any testimony or evidence against him and if she does that then there shall not be any case for the same.

Happy’s move came few hours after her lawyer, Debul Dey said that he shall no longer represent Happy as he did not want to put Rubel in some extra amount of pressure since Rubel is at the moment representing the country in Australia and New Zealand.

On the other hand, Rubel has consistently rejected the allegation for the rape and he claims that he even offered to marry Happy, instead accusing her of “blackmail”.
