Cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar was struck with pure nostalgia when he met BeeGees singing sensational Barry Gibb and expressed his feelings on his micro blogging site twitter. It took him back to his old days when he was an ardent listener of his songs and still continues to be one.

Taking to his twitter handle Tendulkar shared a picture of him with Gibb with both sporting a formal wear. The caption on the image read,

“I was only four years old when ‘Stayin’ alive’ released. Barry Gibb, your songs have always struck a chord with me.” Gibb is the last surviving member of the singing group BeeGees which he started with his brothers Robin and Maurice Gibb way back in the 1960’s.

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar who is a part of the Cricket Advisory Committee appointed by the Supreme Court picked Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the team along with VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly. Though Ganguly was reluctant to go with Shastri it was Tendulkar who convinced him that the call of the team should be respected and it shouldn’t be affected by personal biases.

They had also named Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan as batting and bowling consultants for specific foreign tours but the head of the Committee of Administrator Vinod Rai said that they have not been formally appointed yet so it is not feasible that what actually is happening behind the closed doors.

The legend of the modern generation Tendulkar called it quits from the game in 2013 after playing his farewell Test against the Caribbean. The most striking element of Tendulkar despite having reached the peak is his sheer humility and the conviction with which he conducts himself even today. Former legend Sunil Gavaskar once told during a show that it has been his balance on the field and off the field which has allowed him to stand where he is today.

He was the captain of Sachin’s Blaster in the All Star series also featuring some former stalwarts of the game. He looked in good touch during some of the games though his team was whitewashed in the 3 match T20 series against the Shane Warne led Warne’s Warriors.

A Cricket Freak and a Music Lover. Hearing the name of Sachin Tendulkar still gives him goosebumps and listening to Arjit Singh songs keeps him in the right space. Loves Revolving his life around cricket and music.
