Sourav Ganguly confirms Amitabh Bachchan didn’t take single penny to sing national anthem

Not only did Amitabh Bachchan not take a single penny, he even paid for his own flight and hotel bills.

Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan  didn’t take a single  penny for his own flight and hotel bills.

Amitabh Bachchan’s soulful recitation of the national anthem before the clash of titans-India vs Pakistan match- gave goosebumps to all Indians on Saturday and set the perfect mood for a high voltage match as it tugged at the core of our heart.

But, after that, a report went viral on social media claiming Amitabh Bachchan took 4 crores to be present and sing the national anthem. While it is not a crime for an actor to charge an appearance fee, many fans aghast and wondered if Patriotism was also an “act”.

Now all such rumours can be laid to rest as CAB President Sourav Ganguly went on to the record to say that  Big B  didn’t take a dime to sing the national anthem at the Eden Gardens. AnandbazarPatrika quoted him saying, “Mr Bachchan is one and only, a special person. I am eternally grateful to him” He further said, ” Can you ever imagine someone paying Rs 30 lakhs of his own pocket to perform? He booked his own flight, bought his own tickets and even paid the hotel bills. I literally begged him to take some money but he said that I am doing it for love and there is no question of money being involved”.

Bachchan also surprised CAB people with his enthusiasm when he insisted on a rehearsal even when the weather conditions was far from perfect. He was a picture of concentration speaking very less  before. And with his majestic baritone, he indeed delivered what he intended to. Take a bow Shahenshah!
