India captain MS Dhoni has achieved two more records in the ongoing 1st test against England at Trent Bridge. In the first innings he scored 82 runs, becoming the 4th wicketkeeper in the history of the game to achieve 4,500 career runs. Before him, Adam Gilchrist, Alec Stewart and Mark Boucher achieved this record.
Also, he became the 4th Indian captain to score 300 runs against England in Tests. He fell 10 runs short of his highest score in England (92 at The Oval in 2007). This innings was one of the most crucial knocks of his career. India had been whitewashed in a four-match series back in 2011 but India have shown the right intent with Dhoni getting runs when it mattered.
Dhoni, who celebrated his 33rd birthday on Monday, is leading India against England for the fifth time in England and yet this could be the most crucial ptest of his Test captaincy, having lost the last two series against this opposition.
