Suresh Raina feels that it would be better for him if he is told about his batting position at least 10 overs before he goes out to bat. He admitted that he loves to bat at number 3 and he would not love to bat anywhere below number 4 in the T20s. He added that the mindset is affected if the batting position of a player is changed continuously.

Raina had been batting at Number 4 for India in T20s, just after Virat Kohli, but with Yuvraj Singh back in the team, he might have to bat after 5 or lower. Earlier, Raina was dropped from the ODI side for the ongoing series against Australia because of his poor run in the ODI format, but he has been picked for the T20 side. This series will be crucial as this can be a make or break for few players for the T20 World Cup to be played in India in March this year.

Talking about the T20 series, Raina said that he will concentrate on running between the wickets more than going for big hitting. He added that Australian grounds are big and running between wickets becomes crucial. This is what I learnt from my past experience in Australia, he added.

Talking about his aim, he said that he would like to help India bounce back in the series after what has happened in the ODI series so far. This will be a big boost for all of us before the T20 World Cup, he added.

Raina is India’s leading run scorer at number 3 in the T20 format. Recently, he led Uttar Pradesh to win in the Syed Mushtaq T20 Trophy, after Uttar Pradesh defeated Baroda in the finals by 38 runs. Raina contributed with the bat in the finals, scoring 47 runs of 37 deliveries.
