Taijul Islam, the slow left arm orthodox spinner from Bangladesh grabbed a bit of attention when he claimed an 8-wicket haul against touring Zimbabwe in the 2nd innings of the 1st off the three tests series to bundle the oppoistion for 114.

Islam, who is playing in his just the 3rd test match recorded the best ever test figures in an innings for Bangladesh and the 2nd best in a match.

Taijul, 22, also took a 5-wicket haul in his debut innings vs West Indies. With the 8-wicket haul against Zimbabwe, he became the only 7th Bangladeshi player to take more than one 5-wicket hauls in test cricket.

The best ever figures in a Test match by a bangladeshi were by Enamul Haque jnr, who picked up 12 wickets against Zimbabwe at Dhaka in 2005. He is the only Bangladeshi to pick up two 5-fers in both the innings of a Test match.
