The emergence of New Zealand as cricketing power in the recent years has made the world of cricket very interesting. The Black caps went close to winning the World Cup but lost out in the final. The newly found bowling contingent has helped them a long way in getting into the final.
Trent Boult, who was the joint highest wicket taker in the World Cup 2015, has risen as one of the best in the business at the moment. He is quick, accurate and smart and has been consistent over the past year. The left arm pacer revealed that his idol was the master of swing bowling, Wasim Akram.
Boult said that Wasim Akram was one of the best bowlers to have ever played the game. He explained that he loved the way Wasim used to exploit the pitch in order to get the ball to reverse.
25 year old Boult has become an important part of the New Zealand plans for the future. He said that Akram was someone he watched and admired all throughout his childhood. He said that he has looked up to him for confidence in his entire career.
Boult also explained how he loved to watch Akram use reverse swing as a weapon which is rarely seen in the modern game. He said that he loved to watch Akram bowl Yorkers around the wicket. He added that he loved the watch the stumps fly when he got it right.
Boult had a good season of IPL for the Hyderabad franchise. He felt that the IPL was a great chance for him to learn a lot of new things. He said that it was a very good learning curve for him playing alongside quality players and having a chance to learn from them.
Boult who has the ability to move the ball both ways has already proved himself a strike bowler for NZ as he has already picked 123 Test wickets in 32 matches for his country.
