Delhi opener Unmukt Chand has showered praises on Indian pacer Ishant Sharma for his contribution to the Delhi side. In the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy, Ishant has played a key role for Delhi, as his spells have often made the difference. Chand, who played a decisive knock in the semi final victory over Himachal Pradesh, said that Ishant’s presence was a massive boost for Delhi.
“It’s great to have Ishant and Shikhar playing for us at the moment,” Chand said. Ishant has been doing his job pretty well. Even in the league matches, he took wickets. He is the spearhead for us.”
“The other bowlers can revolve around him. His (Ishant) presence alone makes a lot of difference. Someone clocking at 145 in these conditions and especially domestic players, not many are used to such speeds. It makes a lot of difference, wickets early on. Probably whenever he goes on to bowl, those 10 overs are really crucial.
Those 10 overs have always helped us, even in the days game when he came over to play for Delhi for two matches,” Chand added. “Shikhar, of course, it is good to have him back. We batted together after a long time. It’s good to have the memories back. Hes batting well, just couldn’t convert a 30 into a big score. But I am pretty sure the way he is batting at the moment, he can rip any attack apart at the moment.”
