Things went bad to utterly worse for the Rising Pune Supergiant, as MS Dhoni endured yet another disastrous outing. Against a revamped Gujarat Lions lineup that focused more on its bowling, Dhoni had a great opportunity to strike form on a surface that was decent enough for a strokeplay.
The former Indian skipper came to the middle when Ben Stokes was castled by IPL debutant Andrew Tye. Dhoni off late has been in the worst phase of his career, as the runs and boundaries have tremendously dried up. His statistics in this edition of the IPL paint a rather sorry portrait of him, as his strike rate has been dismal, to say the least.
As soon as Dhoni stood out in the middle, Gujarat skipper Suresh Raina handed over the ball to his ace spinner Ravindra Jadeja, who is playing the first game of his season. Jadeja looked to attack from the offset, as he gave the ball considerable air and flight.
Within the matter of a few deliveries, however, Jadeja outfoxed Dhoni, as the latter attempted a wild slog, only to be trapped in front. The stump showed all the three reds and the umpire had no hesitation in giving that out. It was as easy an LBW call that could get.
Below, is the video of Jadeja dismissing MS Dhoni.
