Australian pacer James Faulkner became the 6th Australian and 41st overall bowler to take a hat-trick in One-Day Internationals. The allrounder achieved the milestone during the second ODI against Sri Lanka.

The 26-year-old left-arm pacer got his first wicket when he dismissed Kusal Perera leg-before with the final delivery of his eighth over. He then returned to dismiss Angelo Mathews with the first delivery of his ninth over and bowled Thisara Perera with his next ball to complete the hat-trick.

Faulkner, whose 4-38 in the first one-dayer earned him the man-of-the-match award and helped Australia take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, finished with figures of 3-45.
Meanwhile, the hosts posted a good total of 288 runs with the help of half centuries from Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera and Angelo Mathews.

An avid sports lover, i always wanted to pursue a career in football. But just like the millions out there i did not put in the hard work needed to achieve my dream and now i have become a fan instead of the player. Anyway, writing for sports has kept me closer to this field. One more thing, yours sincerely is a die-hard Liverpool fan.
    You will never walk alone.
