Video: Sourav Ganguly  hammering clueless Wasim Akram

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has become  the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal after Jagmohan Dalmiya’s untimely death. The legendary Indian batsman is expected to develop the Bengal cricket. Many, Sourav Ganguly fans are delighted with his new role as they think Sourav is the right person to carry forward Jagmohan Dalmiya’s legacy in CAB.

Sourav Ganguly, who cemented his name in the heart of fans just because of his captaincy style, but for his prolific run scoring ability.

Ganguly has played many brilliant innings, that his fan can remember it any time any moment. Similarly, if any innings came against Pakistan that would be sweeter than any other innings. Pakistan, who were probably the best bowling side in world cricket in 1990’s and early years of this new millennium, were a force to reckon with.

Pakistan was the birthplace of one of the greatest fast bowler of history Wasim, you could not see one he was battering him every day. He exposed Sourav Ganguly badly with venomous swing. Ganguly, on many occasions put Akram on the guillotine to reply him back.

Here  I am describing one of those incidents when the Sourav Ganguly won the rivalry with Wasim Akram. Sourav Ganguly was hammering Wasim Akram at a seaming conditions,  pitch in Adelaide in overcast conditions in the Carlton and United Series in Australia on January 25, 2000. It was the ninth match of the series India were playing Pakistan in Adelaide under the captaincy of Sachin Tendulkar. The opening pair of Ganguly and Tendulkar scored 88. It was the day of Sourav Ganguly, who battered spearhead of Pakistani bowling attack Wasim Akram on the way to his remarkable 141 that help India to put 268 run target for Pakistan. India won the match by 48 runs.  Ganguly, who was popularly known as the God of offside, pierced Wasim through the off side.
