Royal Challengers Bangalore’s skipper Virat Kohli has donated his favourite bat to his RCB teammate Chris Gayle. Both the players are sharing dressing room for RCB side since the year 2011 and share a good rapport.

The bat gifted by Kohli will be up for auction to raise funds for “The Chris Gayle Foundation” in an event in London on June 6.

“Fabulous fundraising event in aid of newly formed, The Chris Gayle Foundation. Special guests include Kevin Pieterson, Ravi Bopara, Yuvraj Singh and many other cricketing superstars from around the world. “So we would be delighted if you could join us, in partnership with Grange Hotels, for an evening of fine wine, sumptous food, fundraising and fun!” a statement read from the foundation.

The foundation even posted a picture of the bat gifted by Kohli –

It’s a known fact that Kohli and Gayle one of the closest friend in the cricketing circles due to their jovial nature. Both of them have been the best of players for RCB and also led the side to the final of IPL last year. But this time, they could not emulate their performance as RCB finished IPL 2017 as the lowest rank side.

They could just win three out of 14 games they played. Both Gayle and Kohli could also not perform as per the expectations. First talking of Gayle, the aggressive batsman could just score 200 runs in nine games. He was even dropped from the side due to his poor form.

Talking of Virat Kohli, the skipper of the side too could not perform well as the right-handed batsman scored 308 runs in 10 games. This is quite low if compared to the performance of his last year. Also, this was an opportunity for Kohli to get back in form as head a torrid run in Test series against Australia.

But he failed to perform well and now has a bit of pressure to score in Champions Trophy, where he will be leading the defending champions.
