West Indies playing XI

The stage is set and all the four teams are geared up to take on their respective opposition at the semi-final stage of the tournament. Today New Zealand team will take on the England boys whereas tomorrow the Caribbean boys will lock their horns against the Indian team at Wankhede stadium.

West Indies team suffered a humiliating defeat in their last game against Afghanistan. It was a big shocker for them as they are much stronger side than Afghanistan. Surely that defeat had a great impact on their players and would have affected their world cup preparations too. They will be looking not to repeat the same mistakes as a single error here will kick them out of the tournament.

Chris Gayle will make a comeback in the squad for this match. Lendl Simmons who has replaced injured Andre Fletcher will too make an appearance in this match. The addition of Simmons is a big boon for West Indies team as he knows this ground and conditions very well. He plays for Mumbai Indians in IPL.

The West Indies team will look to give a tough competition to the hosts and will aim to win the match to seal a date at Eden Garden with England/New Zealand.

Let’s have a look at the West Indies playing XI for this match:

Chris Gayle, Lendl Simmons, Johnson Charles, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Bravo, Denesh Ramdin, Sulieman Benn, Samuel Badree, Darren Sammy, Andre Russel, Carlos Braithwaite.
