Indian team under the new coach Anil Kumble is currently touring the West Indies. In the first Test of the four-match series started at Sir Viv Richards stadium in Antigua, Indian batsmen Virat Kohli scored his career best 200 and Ravichandran Ashwin chipped in with a solid hundred. India declared the innings 566 for 8 on day two.
But the question we would like to ask: What is Suresh Raina doing these days? There is a speculation that Raina may lose his position in the team because of his inconsistency in limited-overs cricket. With youngsters like Manish Pandey and KL Rahul displaying their skill and talent Raina will find difficult to find a place in the team in near future.
Raina last played for India in the 2016 World T20 where his highest score was 30 against Bangladesh. It was a crucial encounter against Bangladesh in Bangalore. India has won the thriller by two runs.
But Raina failed to make an impression in other matches of the tournament as his scores read 1, 0, 30, 10. He last played a match winning innings against Australia when India toured Down Under in January 2016. He scored unbeaten 49 in the first T20.
In ODIs too, he last played a remarkable 110* innings against Zimbabwe in the 2015 World Cup in Auckland which helped India win the match. He and captain MS Dhoni built 196-runs partnership after India lost four wickets inside 92 runs to win the match by 6 wickets.
