Well, just before the crucial upcoming away series, our vibrant opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is showing his true colors. Displaying his sensational but sensible, splashing batting against visiting Sri Lanka, Shikhar Dhawan who scored a vital 91 runs, also reached a milestone when he became the fastest Indian batsman to have reached 2000 runs mark in ODIs in just 48 innings. Also, he happens to be the fifth fastest batsman ever to reached 2000 runs mark in 48 innings.
It is heartening to note that Shikhar Dhawan has got back his rhythm well before the World Cup. His consistency is badly needed to enable team India a solid foundation. In fact, whenever the opening pair performs well, the middle order batsmen also sail smoothly and as a result of this a challenging target can be given to opposition. In case of Indian batting, since our bowling attack is not that strong, our batting line, especially the openers, are going to play a pivotal role. That way, the achievement of Dhawan should be applauded. Good to see him striking and hope to see many repeat shows.
