Just a day after the appointment of Zaheer Khan as the bowling consultant of Indian cricket team, it has been learned that the former Indian bowler doesn’t want the role on a full-time basis and want to perform the role on an occasional basis. The reason for this is still unknown though. (Read Here: Rahul Dravid Not To Tour With Team India To Sri Lanka)

Meanwhile, after learning this, Ravi Shastri is all set to ask BCCI for the new man in the role and he wants Bharat Arun do perform the job again. Arun was the bowling coach of Indian cricket team when Shastri was Director from 2014-2016. As soon as Shastri’s role as Director ended with team India, Arun was too sidelined and there was no man in the job for next one year under Anil Kumble. But as soon as Shastri arrived, Zaheer Khan was appointed as the bowling consultant.

It is believed that Zaheer’s name of was recommended by Sourav Ganguly and he even had an argument with Shastri over this matter as he wanted Zaheer Khan whereas Bharat Arun was Shastri’s choice. After it came to notice that Zaheer doesn’t want the job on a full-time basis, Shastri’s case to rope in has bolstered as unlike Zaheer, Arun will be there with the team at all times. Though any official word is yet to come out regarding the matter and there is a strong case when Bharat Arun makes a comeback in Indian backroom staff for a period of two years. Though COA has already come hard at CAC for announcing coaching staff without consulting them as COA think that CAC went past their authority.
