Zimbabwe squad announced for Pakistan tour for 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is

After a long wait, Pakistan is getting ready to host their first bi-lateral series in almost 3 years. With 3 ODIs and 2 T20s to be played against Zimbabwe, the Pakistan team is all set to face the minnows.

After a really disappointing campaign in Bangladesh, Pakistan is ready to take on the team from Zimbabwe at home for the first time after the terrorist attacks on Sri Lanka in 2009 made Pakistan lose all their rights to host cricketing events in the nation.

The Zimbabwe tour to start on the 22nd of this month is going to be the first tour by a Test playing nation and is going forward even after repetitive warnings from the Federation of International Cricket Associations. However after a visit to the country by some delegates from Zimbabwe to be sure about the security arrangements in place for the touring party, they have decided to go through with the tour as planned.

The announcement of the squad to tour Pakistan came as a confirmation about the tour which has its security issues.

The squad: Elton Chigumbura (c), Sikandar Raza Butt, Chamunorwa Chibhabha, Charles Coventry, Graeme Cremer, Craig Ervine, Roy Kaia, Hamilton Masakadza, Christopher Mpofu, Tawanda Mupariwa, Richmond Mutumbami, Tinashe Panyangara, Vusimuzi Sibanda, Prosper Utseya, Brian Vitori, Sean Williams.

The team will be coached by Davenell Whatmore.
