Rhian Brewster’s heroic performance led England to a 4-1 win over the United States and also the U-17 World Cup semi-final berth for the first time.

Brewster scored a hat-trick (11’, 14’ & 90’+6’) and also assisted on the third goal for England that was scored by Morgan Gibbs-White (64’).

Meanwhile, Joshua Sargent scored the only goal for the USA in 72 minutes.

England dominated right from the beginning, and two early goals put them well ahead.

On the other hand, the USA kept fighting despite conceding two early goals. After conceding two goals, the USA continued to attack England defence and created some opportunities. But their shooting in final third was so poor that their conversion rate of shots on target was below 20 percent in the first half (only two shots on goal out of 13 shots in the first half).

On just 11 minutes, Brewster opened the scoreline on a rebound after Phil Foden’s brilliant cross was blocked by the USA goal-keeper Justin Garces.

Just 3 minutes later, Brewster scored the second goal with ease after Foden passed a ball to him.

Just two minutes later (16’), Brewster had a great chance to complete his hat-trick, but the USA goalie timely saved his shot.

After that, the USA produced continuous attacking football with numerous shots but most them failed to be on target. In the first half, the USA had their best chance on 23 minutes when Joshua Sargent’s header hit the post from a corner.

In the second half, England was in control with their attacking football while the USA found hard to continue their intense football that it played in the first-half.

On 64 minutes, Morgan Gibbs-White scored the third goal for England. Brewster generated a cross for Morgan who successfully netted after Justin Garces failed to stop that shot.

The USA finally opened their scoreline on 72 minutes. England goalkeeper Curtis Anderson failed to stop Blaine Ferri’s cross that travelled to Sargent who tucked into an empty net.

Just before the final whistle, Brewster completed his hat-trick from a penalty. Trying to stop Brewster, Sergino Dest made a bad foul on him inside the penalty box that resulted in a penalty for England and a direct red card for Dest.

Brewster converted that penalty and completed his hat-trick as referee instantly whistled for the full-time.
