From the bottom of the Premier League to the top of the pile in less than an year, Leicester City’s journey this season has been phenomenal.
From Jamie Vardy’s goal scoring prowess to Riyad Mahrez’s trickery, Claudio Ranieri has a set of bright stars who have just one aim in their sights this season, the Premier League title.
But one player who has gone un-noticed in the Foxes team has been mid-fielder N’golo Kante. The dynamic mid-fielder has been the power house in the middle of the park for Ranieri’ side and has helped them win a number of games with his solid performances in front of his back four.
But the Kind Power outfit were dealt a cruel blow in their journey for the rest of the season after it was revealed that the 24-year old who was taken off in the 1-0 victory at Norwich will be out for atleast two weeks.
Kante picked up a hamstring injury during the game will not be out for too long but the manager in a recent press meet explained that he will miss atleast another 15 days of action for the Foxes.
Although the injury is not deemed to be too serious, missing the influential mid-fielder may well pose some problems for the Foxes going into the business end of the tournament.
In this two weeks, Leicester travel to Watford and Crystal Palace along with home games against he Baggies and the Magpies. These are four games that the top placed team is expected to win but slipping up in any of those games will give Ranieri a headache of playing catch up for the rest of the season.
Leicester City are still at the top of the table with a two points gap over Tottenham Hotspur and a 5 points gap over Arsenal.
It is still not easy for the Foxes to continue fighting out results till the end of the season, but if they can get results like at Norwich from average performances, they may well find themselves closer to the title than they are at the moment.
However, injuries will play their part and If the team misses the injured mid-fielder in the next few games, it may be a heart breaking season for the fans.
