Arsenal are reportedly looking for midfield upgrades over the window and have submitted a 25 million pound bid for the talented Spanish international who has been admittedly frustrated at the Spanish capital with the lack of opportunities afforded to him in the first team. The player is willing to move to Arsenal as he feels the play would suit him personally and is adamant on an exit from the Bernabeu, fearing another summer of crazy spending from the categorically obsessive President of the club, Perez.
Wenger meanwhile is a huge fan of the player who is yet to hit his prime and is willing to shell up big money to acquire his services. He would be seen as the successor to Mesut Ozil if he does leave in the summer for more illustrious clubs as he has openly refused to sign a contract extension this winter at the North London club. Also, the fact that he has the option to rejoin Real Madrid written as a clause in his contract makes it a perilous situation for Wenger who will be desperate to keep hold of him. In his footsteps, it just might be Isco who can take centre stage at Emirates and pull the strings in midfield.
The player is very popular amongst the Real fans who rate him higher than the likes of Bale and James. Also, his nationality plays a major part and they look to him as the successor for the likes of Alonso and Guti. He will not be let go for cheap and considering Arsenal’s history of being the perennial cheapskates, it might be a major complication in a seemingly logical situation.
