As per the latest reports, Arsenal are close in on signing Schalke’s young sensation Julian Draxler. Draxler has been a long standing target for Arsenal and the Gunners are keen to make a move for the German this summer.

The 21-year old is frustated with a injury hampered season at Schalke and is looking to move away from German outfit this summer. Reports suggest Premier League is his potential destination with the likes sof Arsenal and Manchester United interested in his services.

Schalke wants to try and deter interest from buyers as they have slapped £30 million price tag on Draxler as the player has contract with the club till 2018. The player will be a key addition to Arsenal as he provides a lot of pace to their attack.

The German is an Schalke academy player and a fan favorite which will make it difficult to lure the player away despite Draxler being unsettled. The player has only managed 11 appearences to Schalke this summer scoring 2 goals and 2 assists in the process.

The signing of Draxler would surely excite Arsenal as he is one of the highly rated youngsters in Germany and will be a key addition to Wenger’s squad.
