Borussia Dortmund will visit the Emirates Stadium today to face Arsenal. The German side has already secured qualification to the next round and Gunners need only one point to qualify for the next round.
Both the teams are evenly matched. Let us have a look at combined XI of these teams.
Goalkeeper – Roman Weidenfellar
Roman is an excellent shot-stopper and leads from the back.Though it is a tough call between Szczesny and Roman but Dortmund’s first choice keeper’s consistency win’s him the spot.
Right Back – Lukasz Piszczek
Piszczek is a real ball winner, he is strong and fast. The Dortmund fullback faces very little competition from Chambers and Mathieu Dibuchy.
Centre Back – Per Mertesacker
Mertesacker is a quality player and is like a stone wall in defence. Though his recent performances hasn’t been as good so far but the German’s experience makes him an important player of the combined XI of both these teams.
Centre Back – Mat Hummels
Hummels who is known for his fast reactions and mobility makes in the team with very less competition from Kosciehny.
Left Back – Kieran Gibbs
If Gibbs can remain injury free he can turn out to be the best left back around. He makes in the team over Erik Durm Dortmund’s left back due to his experience of European football.
Left Midfield – Marco Reus
Reus who will be out from the match due to injury is one of the best player in this position. Arsene Wenger side will be relaxed since the German will not play the game.
Centre Midfield – Sven Bender
Sven Bender makes in the team over Gunner’s skipper Arteta. The Dortmund holding midfielder is top class and works wonderfully in the midfield by holding the ball.
Centre Midfield – Mesut Ozil
The number ten of Gunner’s, Ozil is one of the best players in this position and will be missing the game following an injury.
Right Midfield – Alexis Sanchez
The Chilean winger who moved from Barcelona to Arsenal has been in wonderful form so far. His pace, athleticism and vision helps him to tear apart the defence easily. Alexis Sanchez can be expected to show some brilliant performance in the match.
Forward – Henrik Mkhitaryan
Mkhitaryan is known for his dribbling skills and makes in the combined team over Alex Oxlade – Chamberlain. The Armenian is a real threat going forward and will look to run at the backline at every chance.
Forward – Danny Welbeck
Welbeck who just arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Manchester United has performed wonderfully for both country and club. The England international is also in terrific Champions League form.
