The Premier League is home to some of the best talents in the world of football as clubs from around the country are never too far away from spending big on their transfer targets.
Though, the clubs at the top of the table have some star players that help their team maintain their status, there are a number of world class players in clubs around the points table that have managed to set the league on fire in the past.
A number of such stars have been superb this season as well with some even breaking a few records.
One such player, who is now rubbing shoulders with the best players in Europe, is Belgian international Romelu Lukaku.
He came into the limelight with his performances at the Stamford Bridge more than a couple of years ago but the Blues had the likes of Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres and Diego Costa in their ranks, leaving Lukaku with no game time at the club.
He was sent out on loan to the Goodison Park in the 13-14 season and ever since that, Lukaku has cemented a place in the starting XI at the Merseyside.
He penned a permanent deal with Everton for a fee of £28m back in 2014 and since then, his parent club Chelsea have been looking to sign him back every summer.
Everton have managed to keep hold of him till this season, where Lukaku, has now climbed on to the top of the goal scorers list for the Premier League this season after his 4 goals show against Bournemouth recently.
However, reports suggested he could be looking for an exit in the summer with Chelsea yet again linked, this time with a world record bid for the star.
But the Blues were dealt a huge blow today after it was revealed that the 25-year old is happy at the club and is ready to pen a contract extension.
Speaking to talkSPORT recently, Lukaku’s super agent Mino Raiola revealed the Belgian is yet to agree on a new deal with the club but the two parties are confident of finalizing a deal before the end of the season.
“There are no problems right now between the player and the club.
“Talks are ongoing. He will sign.”
This will come as a huge blow for the Blues, who are looking to add a striker to the squad and may be two if Diego Costa decides to quit the club in the summer. Lukaku was a superb option but Chelsea will now have to look elsewhere for additions in summer.
