Premier League giants Manchester United is closing in on signing 19-year-old French prodigy striker Anthony Martial as the striker has completed his medical at Manchester and is off to France to join his national side, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports confirmed the news via twitter and claims that the medical is done successfully and the documentation is needed to complete the deal.

Sky’s tweets read:

It was reported earlier by us that Manchester United have agreed personal terms with AS Monaco starlet who is 19-year-old Frenchman – Anthony Martial. Now, according to the reliable RMC, he will sign for a fee of €80m (€50m plus €30m bonuses).

Anthony Martial will be the most expensive teenager and French footballer in the history. Considering the add-ons the deal sums to 80 million Euros which is also the fifth highest transfer fee. 

Manchester United would not spend money for such a talented youngster who has tipped to be the next ‘Theirry Henry’ of France.

Martial moved to Monaco from Lyon in a deal worth just £3.6m two years ago, but the youngster has scored 11 goals in 43 appearances for Leonardo Jardim’s club and is currently rated as one of the most exciting prospects in world football.

Martial, who was previously a target for Tottenham, has played at every level from Under-16 to Under-21 for France. Spurs were interested in a deal worth around £18m for Martial back in June.

Anthony Martial addition to the United squad would be a huge boost for the side as Louis van Gaal desperately wanted a striker who could partner Wayne Rooney up front.
