Lionel Mess has been named the 2015 Ballon d’Or winner surpassing Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo for the 2015-16 season.

It almost came as a well known fact rather than a surprise to see Messi walk away with the honors after the astonishing season he has had for Barcelona.

The little magican managed to score 45 goals and 16 assist last season and led his side to 5 different trophies.

Take a look at his amazing 2015/16 season in numbers:

Messi’s success came at expense of Neymay and Cristiano but even they could not have doubted the eventual decision made by all the coaches, captains and leadinh journalists around the world.

As a matter of fact, earlier today, Cristiano conceded that Ballon d’Or is out of his reach given the season Messi has enjoyed with Barcelona.

This will be Messi’s fifth Ballon d Or win, which has put him 2 ahead of Ronaldo and seeing the former Manchester United man’s career, I think, Messi has stretched the gap for good.
